Here at Infinitidental Clinic, we provide two different types of dentures in Wimbledon that replace missing teeth and help to restore your smile. Having dentures is more than just restoring your smile though. It’s actually highly beneficial for your overall oral hygiene.
When you first come to visit our Wimbledon dentists at Infinitidental Clinic, we’ll take you through all the possible options for replacing your missing tooth, or teeth. Complete dentures in Wimbledon are used in more severe cases where a whole set of teeth, top or bottom, need replacing. On the other hand, partial dentures are constructed to replace one or more missing teeth in an arch where other healthy teeth remain.
Usually made of acrylic or a combination of acrylic and metal, dentures can be made to match the shade of the rest of your teeth for a supremely natural appearance.

Look and feel younger – missing teeth can cause your face to take on a sunken cheek appearance. Dentures in Wimbledon can reverse this by bringing shape and definition back into your cheeks and lips.
Enjoy advances in dental technology – dentures are now made from different and better materials, meaning an improved appearance, comfort and fit.
Fully functioning – your new set of teeth will be hassle-free and easy to maintain. Once accustomed and adapted, you’ll be speaking clearly and eating and drinking well. You can expect fewer visits to the dentist over time. Dentures can enhance your overall physical health, particularly when they allow you to chew foods properly, thus providing you with all the nutrients you need.
Made to measure – your dentures will be made to match the measurements of your mouth as closely as possible. We’ll take impressions of your teeth and gums to create moulds, measure your jaw where necessary, register the bite and agree upon a final shade for the new teeth.
The confidence to smile naturally
From a cosmetic perspective, dentures will greatly enhance your appearance. You can enjoy a straighter smile and the treatment will fill in spaces where there were once gaps. If you had problems with teeth discolouration, dentures can be made whiter than the original teeth, plus your new radiant smile will brighten your whole face. Say goodbye to smiling with your mouth shut or covered due to embarrassment!
Denture repairs and tooth additions
Infinitidental Clinic works alongside local, established, registered dental laboratories to help patients who may have broken their dentures. The aim is to repair the dentures within a very short period. It’s an invaluable service which we are able to provide in conjunction with skilled laboratory technicians.
At your initial consultation, our team will discuss your requirements and agree upon the most suitable treatment solution. Once we’ve chosen the correct procedure and informed you about all the steps, generally dentures take around 4-6 weeks to be designed to fit your mouth comfortably.
Here is the general process of designing the dentures:
Your assigned dentist at Infinitidental Clinic will go through all the details with you in full. There is no correct or incorrect initial protocol as such. However, we advise all patients to try to wear their new dentures as much as they can during the day so they develop muscle control, speech and chewing skills more quickly. This is also beneficial as it helps the dentist identify where the dentures may need little adjustments, which will make them more comfortable for you. Dentures need to properly embed into your mouth just like brand new shoes do around feet when first worn.
It’s important not to keep dentures in while you sleep. Your supporting tissues need a rest from being continuously loaded by the denture and this also helps to minimise the risk of contracting any infections in the mouth. The denture should then be put back in first thing in the morning.
Traditional false teeth have a bad reputation for looking fake and making the wearer look old. Thanks to the latest and developing technological advancements with dentistry, dentures appear very natural-looking and fit in nicely with the remainder of your natural teeth. We will take exact measurements to ensure that your dentures fit your mouth perfectly.
As dentures are tailor-made to fit your mouth, they should not hurt or cause you any discomfort. If you have never had dentures before, there may be an initial adjustment stage where you’ll find yourself getting used to them but one this period has passed, you won’t even realise that the dentures are there!
First of all, we will take impressions of your teeth and gums before we send it off to our partner laboratories. Once created, we will invite you back to our practice so that you can try your false teeth on and ensure they are an accurate and comfortable fit. If you are happy with the fit, you can continue to wear your dentures from then on.
One of the best ways to keep your dentures clean is to be clean them – day and night – with a medium bristled tooth brush in warm soap water. Do not use toothpaste as it containers an abrasive agent, which when used to clear dentures, wears away the acrylic.
In most cases, we recommend removing the dentures at night. Previous studies have shown that by removing dentures for at least eight hours during rest time, it allows the gum tissues to rest which therefore allows for normal stimulation and cleansing from the the tongue and saliva. The key benefit of this is that it promotes better long-term health of the gums.
Yes, of course. We offer a FREE no-obligation consultation to all new patients that are looking to get false teeth and dentures. Simply give us a call today and we can arrange an appointment for you at a time that suits you best.
Full dentures – also known as complete dentures – replace all of patient’s teeth. Full dentures sit on top of the gums and are typically placed within 8-12 weeks after the teeth have removed or extracted. Full dentures are highly recommended for patients who missing full sets of teeth.
If dentures aren’t the right solution for you, we recommend dental implants as an alternative. Dental implants can be used to support cemented bridges which therefore eliminates the need for a denture. When you visit us for your initial consultation, our team will fully assess and examine your current situation before offering a bespoke treatment plan.
