Your skin will be cleansed and prepped and the peel will then be applied, you may experience a ‘tingling’ sensation while the peel is applied on the treatment area. Following this the peel will be neutralised and the aftercare products applied. We will also advise on the skincare products to use at home to maximize results.

However, there are certain conditions and circumstances where they should not be used on patients. Chemical peels should not be used on pregnant or breast feeding women, patients with history of keloid scarring or patients with sunburn. Our medical practitioners invite all patients for an initial consultation before treatment goes ahead to ensure you are an appropriate candidate.
There are minimal side effects that patients experience with Skin Care Peels. However, it is very common for patients to experience redness on the skin and it ay appear flaky for a few days. Our medical practitioners will give you clear aftercare instructions so you can best look after your skin when you visit us at our clinic. After treatment, we highly recommend that you avoid picking any spots or peel flaky skin. Moreover, we also advise avoiding strenuous activity for at least 24 hours after.
It’s highly unlikely that one peel will be enough for the vast majority of patients. To achieve maximum results and more youthful looking skin, we recommend and advise a series of six to eight fortnightly to monthly peels rather than just a one-off treatment. Our medical practitioners will advise you on the exact number of treatments you may have to undertake based on your specific circumstances and skin condition.
Peeling will generally start 48-72 hours after your treatment and can last 2-5 days. It is very important not to pick off peeling skin; peeling is minimal and easily controlled with moisturiser. Premature peeling of the skin will result in dry, cracked, raw skin that may develop into hyperpigmentation.
It’s important you avoid certain products and substances before you undergo skin care peel treatments. One week before the peel, it’s imperative to avoid waxing, electrolysis and hair removals. Two to three days before the peel, avoid using any prescription topicals such as Tazorac, Retin-A and more.
